What You’ll Learn
Practical, Professional Training for Federal Grant Responsibility

This training is a QAS™ Self Study program.

Grants Works created the three-module Federal GrantIQ™ Training Series for recipients of federal grants and cooperative agreements. The training covers federal grants from the basics to closeout.

Using engaging visual design and voiceover narration, Grants Works takes the learner through the federal grant lifecycle in a cohesive manner that was designed to be "recipient-centered."
We believe that recipient-centered training goes beyond teaching grantees how to submit one report or use a system to complete a task, we designed this training to help you understand how to use regulations to effectively manage federal grants and how guidance and other resources can be used in the real world.

Meet the Instructor

My name is Patrice Davis and I am the founder and CEO of Grants Works, a consulting company that specializes in federal grants. I'm also the lead trainer for Grants Works Academy.

I have over 18 years of experience obtaining and managing federal grants for large and emerging nonprofits and a top research university. I also reviewed grant continuation applications, helped coordinate research grant application review panels, and organized reverse site visits for grantees when I was employed at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

I've managed federal grants as a recipient, subrecipient, pass-through entity and my work as a federal employee enhances my experience.

Since 2005, I successfully administered over $300 million in federal, state and county grant funding from 20+ city, county, state and federal agencies.

I provided training on Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200), HHS’ adoption of Uniform Guidance (formerly 45 CFR 75) and managing grant-funded travel. I was also a fiscal consultant during site monitoring visits of state agency recipients of federal grants.

I am a member of the National Grant Management Association, Grant Professionals Association, and Georgia Grant Professionals Association.

I am one of approximately 313 Certified Grants Management Specialists (CGMS) in the US as of 2024, a member of Thompson Grants Expert Panel, and host of the Federal GrantsExplained podcast.

Outside of grants, I have several interests. I am the host of the Age Has No Limit podcast and I enjoy spending time with my three adult children, reading international fiction and personal development books, watching foreign films, international travel, and resistance training.
